How it works
Partner with a school
School pantries are established in a public school with a coordinator overseeing the distribution of food. The pantry is open to students, faculty, and families at the location.
Deliver healthy foods
Coordinators order pantry staples, snacks, protein, and produce from The Food Depot. Each school has a fridge and freezer on site to keep food fresh.
The healthy food is delivered to schools by The Food Depot staff and then distributed by coordinators.
Provide groceries
Each school holds grocery distributions for families. Schools may distribute once a month, on a weekly basis, or as needed when a family requests food.
Schools with pantries are currently located in Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and Taos counties.

Having a pantry at the school has allowed us to easily serve a variety of healthy foods to many students and their families. We distribute directly from the school and deliver to parents at home. One time, a grandmother raising her grandchildren reached out for extra support and shared a need for food in the home. Thanks to the pantry, we were able to prepare a food box that day. We are also grateful for the supply of healthy snacks to use during tutoring and student support groups. We love The Food Depot!
