JOB TITLE: Delivery Coordinator, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Distribution Manager
SALARY RANGE: $20.00 – $28.00/Hour DOE

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for transporting, loading and unloading product in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, standards and program guidelines.

Picks up, delivers, loads and unloads product; develops daily route including regular delivery to partner agencies, Mobile Food Pantry sites, and other program sites
Assists in food acquisitions routes, when needed
Ensures outgoing deliveries have correct orders, and perishable and frozen foods are added to orders according to partner agency needs; ensure product is being taken and loaded according to FIFO
Completes all delivery paperwork
Maintains positive customer relationships with donors, partner agencies and volunteers
Sorts and stores perishable goods in the proper refrigerated and freezer spaces, pulling outdated product – practice FIFO
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bin and boxes according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color or product code
Moves and arranges stock as assigned
Completes forms, reports, and logs as required
Supervises volunteers, when appropriate
Ensures that all stock and inventory items are maintained in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, standards and program guidelines – executes physical count
Ensures the proper maintenance and recording of inventory levels for food and nonfood items
Handles food according to safe food handling practices
Maintains and safely operates all trucks and warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks; operates scales to weigh inventory items
Assists in the maintenance and care of the facility and equipment; assists in the safety and sanitation of facilities and equipment through compliance with The Food Depot guidelines and any applicable local, state or federal laws or regulations
Observes all local, state, and federal regulations in warehouse operations and vehicle transport
Contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests
Complies with all The Food Depot policies, procedures and systems
Is consistently at work and on time
Performs related duties as required or assigned; assists other departments as requested; may work evenings and weekends, as needed

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience
Knowledge of NM DOT and CDL compliance required
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of The Food Depot
Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with coworkers, managers and customers; ability to effectively communicate problems and issues
Ability to read and comprehend packing slips and orders
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide along with a basic understanding of weights and measures
Must be computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, inventory database experience a must
Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness

Clean Driving Record as defined by DOT and The Food Depot
Current Medical Examiners Certification
CDL Class A Drivers License
Proof of COVID Vaccination
Successful Completion of CDL Class A Driving Test
Successful Completion of Forklift Training provided by The Food Depot

Physical Environment
Employee will spend 65% of the time driving a vehicle (truck, forklift and other machinery)
Employee will spend 35% of time in a warehouse environment
Requires travel to other facilities within service area and within state
Possibility of future out of state travel
Possibility of overnight stay
Must be able to get into a forklift and operate all of the controls
Employee can be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
The employee must be able to load and unload items into and out of truck
The employee must be able to operate forklift and pallet jacks
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
