The annual Kids Count Data Book was released by the Annie E. Casey Foundation on Wednesday, June 27. The results show how important the work of The Food Depot and other advocates for children is now for the future.
The report puts New Mexico as the worst state for child well-being in the country. It has been five years since New Mexico has ranked this low. The report takes into account 16 measures of child well-being and trends for children across the country. The Foundation works with New Mexico Voices for Children on advocacy and policy recommendations here in New Mexico.
Take a look at the 2018 Kids Count Data Book here.
The Food Depot has specific programs that focus on child hunger and health including: Square Meals, Lunch Box Express, Food 4 Kids, Diaper Depot programs. These programs are important now than ever keeping food and diapers in the households of those who need it most. Donate to these programs to help children in The Food Depot’s service area of nine counties in Northern New Mexico.
