When school is out for summer break, so is school lunch. During the summer month’s The Food Depot uses the Lunch Box Express to get meals to kids that may not get a meal otherwise.
Today (June 5) kicks off the third summer of the Lunch Box Express program. The Food Depot staff and volunteers take a school bus into communities to distribute lunches.
The Food Depot thanks the Santa Fe Public Schools, Santa Fe County, New Mexico Children Youth and Families Department for their partnership on the Lunch Box Express program.
To get on the bus and volunteer for this program, contact Sarah at scarter@thefooddepot.org. There is a background check and training required before volunteering, paid for by The Food Depot.
