Thank you for your interest in providing a bid as a vendor for the 2017-18 after school meal program!

We have five sites for the after school meal program so far with the potential to add more if there is capacity to do so. We would want to begin in mid-to-late September, but are also waiting for the CYFD approval for our application. Here is the preliminary information but as school begins there may be some tweaks. Meal times will range from as early as 3 p.m. and as late as 5 p.m.

The sites include:

Salazar Elementary, estimate of number of meals: 100; Days: M-R (4)

Aspen Community School, estimate of number of meals: 100; Days: M-R (4)

El Camino Real Academy, estimate of number of meals: 150; Days: M-R (4)

Zona Del Sol – Boys & Girls Club, estimate of number of meals: 100; Days: M-F (5)

Camino de Jacobo – Boys & Girls Club, estimate of number of meals: 30; Days: M-F (5)

Total meals estimate=480

We are hoping the after school meals program would begin the week of September 18 or 25 and run through the last week of school, approximately May 18. Adding more sites would not happen unless there was both the capacity to do so and an agreement to expand. If so, additional sites wouldn’t be added until the third semester, which begins January 4, 2018.

We would need meals that fulfil the current CACFP meal pattern requirements and we also need delivery to the sites to be part of the service in providing the meals. (Here is a link to the CACFP meal pattern requirements: http://www.newmexicokids.org/wp-content/uploads/N-069-CACFP-2017-NET-AM-Training-Final-HOs.pdf and the link to the CYFD Family Nutrition Bureau site with all CACFP links: https://www.newmexicokids.org/caregivers-and-educators/health-and-safety/new-mexico-cyfd-family-nutrition-bureau/ ) The meals can be served as pre-portioned individually sealed meals that are dropped off to sites in hot/cold transport bags or buffet style where your staff stays to serve and clean up.

The milk is part of the meal pattern and as of August can only be served 1% white milk. Your bid should include the milk cost.

Please let me know if there is additional information that is needed in order to provide your best bid by September 1st.

I hope you will consider submitting a bid to help feed kids!!
