In response to numerous wildfires in its service area, The Food Depot is calling for specific donations to assist with the disaster response.
The Food Depot staff consistently maintains a disaster response plan and supplies to support these efforts. Due to the quick, drastic increase in fires in The Food Depot’s service area and the early start to the fire season, the food bank seeks to ensure its supply, ready to quickly and effectively respond.
Items requested include:
Beef jerky, bottled water of any amount, Gatorade, individually wrapped, non-perishable snacks
Chapstick, eyedrops, socks, sunblock, hygiene products including but not limited to: baby wipes, Q-tips, women’s menstrual products, soap, toothpaste
In-person donations are accepted at The Food Depot’s warehouse in Santa Fe, 1222 A Siler Rd., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Monetary support is also accepted in-person, by mail (please note “disaster relief” in the check memo) or online.
