Discover the artist inside you at a plein-air watercolor class led by artist Erik Speyer!

Donation: $80 per student
Two watercolor classes are available on Saturday, April 9th and May 14th. Each class has a maximum group size of 12, so each student receives individualized instruction. Classes will run from 9 am – 4 pm, with a one hour break for lunch at noon. The morning will be dedicated to the basics of watercolors and is suitable for beginners and intermediate students. After lunch, the class will move outside, weather permitting.
All students will be provided with a brush, watercolors, a palette, and paper. Students should bring a portable chair and their lunch for the class. Erik is donating his time, the supplies, and the fee associated with the clubhouse use. There is a six student minimum for each class. Refunds for this event are not available. All class proceeds go directly to The Food Depot.
About Erik Speyer: Erik Speyer is a watercolor artist ( www.erikspeyerart.com/ ) who writes and illustrates children’s picture books in English and in Spanish. Born in Argentina, raised in Denmark as well as South America, he was a Navy pilot and a museum director.
Now residing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he enjoys the natural beauty of the mountains and arroyos, including painting in plein air. He has 5 grandchildren and is a volunteer tutor in a local public school.
His “Kubi” books have won several awards. “The Adventures of Kubi” won the Best in Category for Books for Better Living, 2017. “Kubi Conoce Rosita” won the 2019 International Latino Book Award for Best Children’s Fiction Picture Book – Spanish. “Kubi Meets Rosita” won the New Mexico-Arizona 2019 Children’s Picture Book Award.
