Events and Outreach

Our events help create healthy communities.

Connect with others to raise funds and resources for Northern New Mexicans facing food insecurity.

Souper Bowl

The Food Depot’s annual Souper Bowl is a chance to sample culinary talents from across Santa Fe’s, all while raising money for hunger-relief. Every year, dozens of local chefs prepare a soup in a chosen category and attendees vote for their favorites. However, only one chef can win the coveted “Best Overall Soup”. This family-friendly event is a community favorite, winning hearts and taste buds for almost 30 years! Souper Bowl is held every January.

Neighbor to Neighbor Fund Drive

Neighbor to Neighbor is the largest annual fundraiser for The Food Depot. During this friendly competition, neighborhoods, businesses, and community groups compete to raise the most money for hunger relief in Northern New Mexico. No group is too large or small to help create healthy communities. Started in 2011 as a food drive, this volunteer-led event now raises enough funds for one million meals every year. Neighbor to Neighbor runs every year from June to September.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

The National Letter Carriers Association “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive is the largest single-day food drive in the nation! On this Saturday, letter carriers collect non-perishable food donations left at mailboxes and at post offices in Santa Fe County. Volunteers and staff deliver the donations to The Food Depot, where they are sorted before traveling across all nine counties served by your Northern New Mexico food bank. Stamp Out Hunger is held annually on the 2nd Saturday in May.

Hunger Action Month

Every September, The Food Depot joins Feeding America and other food banks around the country for a month dedicated to taking action and raising awareness for hunger in the United States. Throughout the month, The Food Depot highlights the many ways Northern New Mexicans can stay involved in our mission to create healthy communities. Mark your calendars for Hunger Action Month - and Hunger Action Day on September 23rd. Your power, voice, actions, and commitment make a difference.
